Anyone planning to tour Bridges Cemetery on Saturday morning will need a new date. The City of The Colony said Friday that the visit, led by the city's Local History Committee, has been moved to Saturday, Oct. 31, from 9 to 11 a.m.
The city cited poor ground conditions after this week's storms and a forecast that calls for more rain. The tour had been scheduled for Oct. 3.
The new plan mirrors the old one. A walking tour starts at 9 a.m. sharp, and the gates stay open until 11 a.m., weather permitting. The cemetery, founded in 1889, sits at the northwest corner of Chesapeake Drive and Morning Star Drive. Questions go to The Colony Public Library at 972-625-1900, ext. 3.
