Lewisville ISD, which runs the public schools in The Colony, scored every available point on the state's 2025-26 school finance ratings, according to Texas Education Agency records.
The district will hold a public hearing on the result at 7 p.m. Monday, Nov. 9, in the boardroom of the Lewisville ISD Administrative Center, 1565-A W. Main St. in Lewisville. LISD posted the hearing notice Friday.
A clean sheet
TEA's Financial Integrity Rating System of Texas, or FIRST, grades districts each year on 21 indicators taken from their audited annual financial reports. The ratings released this summer cover the 2024-25 school year.
Lewisville ISD's detail sheet shows a score of 100, with a rating of A for "Superior Achievement." Passing takes 70 points; an A takes at least 90.
The district took full marks on each of the scored measures, among them:
- days of cash on hand and current investments to cover operating costs;
- the ratio of current assets to current liabilities;
- whether general fund revenue covered operating spending;
- how close budgeted revenue came to actual revenue over three years;
- long-term liabilities compared with total assets, and future debt payments compared with the district's taxable property value;
- average daily attendance against the district's own projection.
