Howl-O-Ween brings pet costumes, free nail trims and trunk-or-treat to Hawaiian Waters lot Oct. 10

Dogs get the spotlight next Saturday when Friends of The Colony Animal Services holds its second Howl-O-Ween.

The event runs from 5 to 7 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 10, in the parking lot at Hawaiian Waters, 4400 Paige Road, according to the City of The Colony's events calendar.

Owners are invited to bring their pets. Dogs can get their nails trimmed for free, and the trunk-or-treat has treats for animals and candy for children.

  • Trunk-or-treat for pets and kids
  • Pumpkin painting
  • A cake walk
  • Cotton candy
  • A pet costume contest
  • Raffle prizes, including gift cards and escape room passes

More fall dates on the city calendar

Howl-O-Ween is one of several outdoor events the city has posted for October:

  • Wednesday, Oct. 28: Owl & Howl Prowl, a nighttime wildlife walk along the Shoreline Trail with Keep The Colony Beautiful and Texas Master Naturalist Donna Cole.
  • Saturday, Oct. 31: The Colony Public Library's Visit Historical Bridges Cemetery event, moved from its original date because of wet ground and rain, now runs 9 to 11 a.m.
