The Colony, Texas — Will Grier will join the Cowboys as an offensive assistant, beginning the role when training camp opens next week.
Dallas made the announcement July 24. The club said the 31-year-old had recently retired after an offseason with Carolina; ESPN reported he ended his playing career July 15.
Grier entered the NFL as Carolina’s 2019 third-round choice. His two earlier Dallas stops centered mainly on preseason work and practice squads.
He will now serve on Brian Schottenheimer’s staff, again working in the same organization as Dak Prescott.
